Our 1st and 2nd Class pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic language collaboration with the Transition Year students from Heywood Community School.
The TY students visited our school over a number of weeks and introduced the children to both French and German through fun, interactive activities and games. The pupils had a fabulous time learning simple greetings, colours, songs and phrases in the two languages. It was a lovely introduction to foreign languages and the excitement and enthusiasm in the classroom was wonderful to see.
As a special final activity, our pupils travelled to Heywood Community School where they received a tour of the school and took part in more French and German games and activities. The children were also treated to some very tasty snacks, which made the day even more enjoyable!
This was a wonderful community multi-school event that gave our pupils the opportunity to experience new languages in a fun and engaging way while also building connections with older students in the wider school community.
A huge thank you to the TY students and teachers in Heywood for their kindness, enthusiasm and effort in making this such a memorable experience for everyone involved.
