We’re excited to continue our biodiversity workshop with Session Two: Worm Survey!
In this hands-on session, students will explore the fascinating world beneath our feet by investigating earthworms and soil health. Activities will include:
-
Carefully digging and collecting worms from selected areas
-
Conducting a simple survey to estimate the number of worms in a soil sample
-
Testing soil moisture levels and discussing why this matters for biodiversity
-
Identifying different types of worms and learning about their roles in the ecosystem
This practical session will help students understand how soil organisms contribute to a healthy environment and why they are so important for biodiversity.
What to bring:
Students are encouraged to wear old clothes and sturdy shoes, as we will be working outdoors and getting a little muddy!
We’re looking forward to another engaging and educational session.
