There are 99 different species of bees in Ireland, consisting of;
1 native honey bee,
21 bumblebee species,
77 solitary bee species.
Sadly, one-third of these wild bee species are threatened with extinction due to habitat loss and reduced food sources.
Despite very wet and cold spring weather children in 3rd & 4th Class discovereded
4 types of native wild flowwers blooming in our schhol grounds.
Daisy, common field speedwell, red dead nettle and lesser celendine.
