Ethos

The school staff, the Board of Management, the parents and the children of Ballinakill National School will work together to create a safe and educationally stimulating environment where the Christian values of respect, tolerance and understanding are promoted.

We aim to be inclusive, respectful of difference and to reflect diversity in a positive manner.

Ballinakill National School facilitates life-long learning by enabling students and their families to learn how to learn in a wide variety of settings and by embracing many forms of teaching and learning. We strive to in-still a love of learning that will express itself in an enquiring mind and a heightened curiosity through all stages of formal education and beyond.

Ballinakill national School recognises the importance of cultural and extra- curricular activities for all. This incorporates respect for our national language, our heritage, our sporting, artistic and musical interests, and our sense of national community and school pride.

Ballinakill National School integrates Christian values with an academic programme which satisfies the challenging demands of modern life and provides for individual differences and needs whilst encouraging personal responsibility and cultivating self-directed, life- long learning.
