There was great activity around the greenhouse this week as 3rd and 4th class took on the job of laying a loose stone floor. Armed with small buckets and plenty of determination, the children set to work carrying stones across in steady trips.
Bucket by bucket, the pile of stones began to shrink and the floor began to take shape. No one carried a huge load, but together they moved an impressive amount in a surprisingly short time.
The loose stone floor will help with drainage and keep the space dry and practical for planting and potting throughout the year.
By the end of the session, the greenhouse had a brand new stone base and the children had seen first hand what can be achieved when everyone plays their part. Many small efforts added up to one big result, this was a fine example of teamwork in action.
