Una Halpin from SEAI came to our school to facilitate an enery workshop with the children.
The workshop focused on renewable energy sources especially solar energy. It was timed to coincide with our school installing solar panels on the south facing section of our school roof.
Children had an opportunity to use mini solar panels to light LEDs and provide power to make fans spin. They explored and measured the diffence between the light levels indoors an outdoors.
The workshop was enjoyed by all and gave the children a lbasic understadning of how solar panels work.
